Since it’s the Holiday Season, Hussain and I wanted to tell you about a trip we took to Alaska a few years ago. On the trip, we started out in Anchorage and drove to Denali. Anchorage is a pretty big city (for Alaska) in the middle of the southern part of the state near the Gulf of Alaska. We drove over 200 miles north to get to the Denali State Park. That took up most of the day since we stopped a lot to take pictures. It is just as beautiful in the summer as the winter, just not cold. The state park is huge.
Our favorite part of the trip was going to the town of North Pole. It’s farther north and southeast of Fairbanks. The place everybody goes to see is the Santa Claus House. We got to stay there. The house is big with red and white coloring and there are reindeer in a pen in the back. They let you feed them, too. It’s Christmas all year round. A giant Santa statue greeted us outside. Inside there are so many ornaments and things to buy. We had hot chocolate at the café and waited to see Santa on his throne. In the winter they have lots of lighted ice sculptures that you can see or play on. They build a giant ice slide every year.
Stay warm and have a happy holiday!
